Housekeeping and a Question

Just two quick notes in this post -

One is just a heads up:
A few comments have been posted to the blog that are all a variation of "I like your blog. You should check out this tea: www.imtryingtopromotemyproductusingyourblog.com"

I make it a practice to reject these comments because I don't want to be used to promote products that I have never tried. Occasionally I will pass it along if I think it looks promising, but generally, I just won't post them.

IF you post a comment to the blog and it doesn't get published, please feel free to e-mail me directly (teapages (at) gmail.com) so we can discuss it. I'm happy to reconsider if I know that it is a legitimate recommendation from an interested reader.

Now, time to put on your thinking caps:
I am in the process of tracking down older writings about tea - essays, book excerpts, etc. for a project I'm working on. These can be pieces by people in the industry, historical figures, etc. And when I say "older" I'm thinking early 1900s and before. I am primarily interested in non-fiction, but if there's a fictional piece you're in love with, let me know. If you have any thoughts, ideas, and recommendations for pieces I should read, please send them along to me at teapages (at) gmail.com

Thanks for your help and have a great Thursday!

I know what you mean. People leave comments on my website just to get people to look them up sometimes.

I do leave my website URL on blogs in case people want to see who I am. I would like to know who the person was if the situation were reversed.

I don't have time to read and comment on a blog that doesn't interest me. I wish I had time to read every tea blog every day. I find out much more about what's going on in world of tea that way than by searching the Internet.

It's a good day when I can read at least one blog entry on three or more blogs and comment on one or two of them. I haven't had a chance to hit your blog in at least a couple of weeks and I honestly don't remember if I have commented here before.

About your question, Mary Elizabeth from Tea Break magazine seems to have a lot of old information on her site. Also, you can contact the San Jose tea examiner on Examiner.com. She knows a great deal about tea and is president of her local tea society.

If I think of someone or someplace else, I'll message you on Facebook

Thanks for writing, Margaret!

I love finding out about other blogs and have been very happy to have people share links as they're appropriate. It's also great when someone has a Google profile so I can learn a bit more about who they are.

What's actually been bothering me is when the comment is clearly only for the purpose of including a commercial link.

Thank you for the great suggestions. I'll get in touch with the people you recommended!

I just came across this great vintage tea video from 1941 on youtube that shares 6 tips to making good tea. It's pretty fabulous to watch and see how far tea has truly come. http://www.youtube.com/v/vnvYymrCn4g&hl=en_US&fs=1&%5C
